The BR HTO, HOP, and HTV wagons was used to transport coal and other bulk materials across Britian. They were introduced by British Railways in the 1950s as part of the Modernization Plan, which aimed to replace the older wooden wagons with more durable and efficient steel ones. The wagons remained in service until the 1980s.
